El Cuarteto Típico Puente Alsina displays a taste and aspiration to belong to the outskirts, reflected in its name: Puente Alsina, the link between the Capital and the Greater Buenos Aires. With two guitars, bandoneón, and double bass, their sound doesn't seek to be modern or updated, but rather to express authenticity and exquisite sensitivity in the arrangements. Although the selection of songs is eclectic, the identity is provided by the orchestration. For example, songs like "Pobrecito mi cigarro" by Atahualpa Yupanqui, transformed into tango, or "Sus ojos se cerraron," more tangy in this instrumental version than in Gardel's original, along with original compositions like "Pa’ silbar" and "La otra orilla" by Mariano Heler (guitar). The voice of Alfredo Tape Rubín adorns two tracks, adding a concert-like atmosphere to the album and momentarily shifting the listener's focus. This is not coincidental, as Rubín has performed with the two guitars of this quartet live for almost a decade. The quality of the four instrumentalists is consistent: the two guitars complement each other perfectly, each with a distinctive touch and sound, while the double bass and bandoneón complete the timbral ensemble.
