María Salgado offers us a musical journey that spans various Hispanic cultures in her compilation album. With her participation in the iconic album "La sal de la vida," Salgado left an indelible mark on the Iberian music scene, standing out for her Castilian accent. Now, in this work, she compiles music and poetry from various Hispanic songbooks, from the peninsula to the Mediterranean, including Sephardic influences. The compilation is a sum of cultures intervened by Salgado herself, who sometimes contributes lyrics or sets ancient popular poetry to music. This fusion provides a dose of originality and coherence to the album. The orchestration, enriched with flutes, guitars, percussion, oboe, and accordion, creates a fresco of Spanish folklore, with arrangements that incorporate African or Asian influences, as well as modern touches like the electric bass. The album also features original songs that show Latin American influences and a mixture of Celtic, Moorish, Gypsy, and Jewish roots, reflecting the diversity of Spain. Salgado's voice, unchanged over time, moves and captivates, showing years of experience in every detail.
