Within the TangoContempo catalog, there are various languages, different ways of approaching tango. Some musicians are more irreverent, skirting around tango without fully embracing it; others, like this trio, visit other musical styles from within the tango at times. Ramiro Boero is the bandoneonist, arranger, and partly the composer of the trio, which is completed by Juan Pablo Gallardo on piano and Manuel "Popo" Gómez on double bass. The album begins with a suite of three pieces dedicated to the artists of the Agrupación Gente de Artes y Letras from the neighborhood of La Boca, who since 1940 aimed to bring together artists from the area and promote the visual arts and literature. That's why the three movements are named after renowned artists from La Boca, such as Quinquela Martín, Fortunato Lacámera, and Desiderio Rosso.
