The group Son de la Frontera, whose activity began in 1998 as the backing band for Martirio, has left a significant mark on flamenco music. Composed of Raúl Rodríguez, Paco de Amparo, Pepe Torres, Moi de Morón, and Manuel Flores, this ensemble is considered heir to the school of Diego del Gastor, but with the innovation of including the Cuban tres, an unconventional instrument in flamenco, which dialogues interestingly with the guitar. The album "Cal," released in 2006 and offered for the first time in Argentina, showcases the authenticity and deep roots of this group's music, mostly composed by musicians from Morón de la Frontera. Although their style is deeply rooted and traditional, varied influences can be perceived, such as a Caribbean surprise in the melody of the first track. The intensity and skill of the group in handling the rhythms and traditional styles of flamenco are remarkable. From bulerías to sevillanas, the album offers a complete range of flamenco sounds, all performed acoustically, allowing the music to be enjoyed anywhere, without the need for electricity.
