Cecilia Zabala is a guitarist, composer, and singer. She is equally skilled in all three areas, being a guitar teacher at conservatories, the author of beautiful songs like "Maravilla" and "Aguaribay," which open her first solo album, and a tuned and sensitive singer. To say that this album is folklore is an understatement, as the music is difficult to classify. Zabala, a member of the Club who shared her album, has an open vision of what Argentine popular music is, incorporating elements from academic music, pop, tango, and jazz. Her own songs and surprising recreations of classics like "Grisel," "Zamba de la viuda," and "Los ejes de mi carreta" are presented in novel and imaginative versions that must be listened to attentively to be fully appreciated. Additionally, the album features the beautiful song "A pique" by Juan Quintero, guest appearances by Juan Falú and Silvia Iriondo, and showcases Cecilia's guitar playing (very well recorded), which at times stands alone, accompanied only by silence.
