Third album by double bassist Mariano Otero and the first with this formation, enormous for contemporary and local jazz. It features a selection of twelve musicians (plus Otero, who leads from his instrument) exploring the timbral, harmonic, and rhythmic possibilities provided by such an ensemble through seven original compositions. The resulting music is powerful, profound, and therefore moving. Some of the instrumentalists participating in this experience include: Juan Cruz de Urquiza (trumpet), Enrique Norris (cornet), Ricardo Cavalli (tenor and soprano saxophone), Francisco Lovuolo (piano), and Pepi Taveira (drums). Naming just these few is unfair; naming them all would make this review too lengthy. Fresh and natural as jazz should be, it is also meant to be listened to loudly like a rock album.
