Tango Crash is a group that integrates unmistakably tango elements with electronic programming, sound processing, experimental jazz improvisations, and elements of contemporary music. In "Otra sanata," their second album, they continue with the approach initiated in their debut CD, taking it to a more defined, more tango, and more electronic extreme simultaneously.
Clearly distancing themselves from all commercial shortcuts, the group differentiates itself from other proposals within the style through its experimental approach with sharp edges—from the inclusion of virtuosic solos close to jazz to the use of harmonies that diverge from tonality. Far from the occasionally light sound of some proposals within the genre, Tango Crash presents a dense and direct approach. By fusing the most twisted electronics with live-played percussion, they achieve a powerful and feverish rhythmic result. The harmonies and melodies are reminiscent of tango but are more characteristic of 20th-century contemporary music.
