"Piedras Negras" is the first single from the upcoming album by young jazz guitarist Theo Naishtat, titled "Afinidades."




Inspired by a whirlwind journey through the mountains of El Chaltén, "Piedras Negras" is composed with a language rooted in modern jazz, infused with strong influences from other rhythms. The piece features a melody in the first section, characterized by a rapid succession of chords leading into the next section of the theme, where the harmony stabilizes over a vamp that sets the stage for guitar and piano solos. During the solo section, the group aims to transport the listener through various sonic landscapes, utilizing interaction, space, and dynamics among the quartet members, before returning to the re-exposition of the theme.
