Ramiro Barrios says: "The EP captures compositions that I wrote with the sound of this particular trio in mind. Melodies that depart from the traditional jazz format and contribute to the trio's continuous interaction throughout the entire song, placing more emphasis on precise ensemble playing than on improvisation itself (although it is obviously present).




The track "Ansioso" was composed while playing with the Sokattu technique (a solfege method from South India) and some ideas I had been working on from the Slonimsky book.




"Hinchabolado" and "Si no tiene nada que hacer..." stem from the constant search on the guitar for sounds across different areas of the fretboard. Trying to connect contrapuntal ideas and melodies that have been sounding in my head, the result of years of studying different musical styles, which now converge into the same ones."
