"Amores de estudiante" is a waltz from the year 1934 that Carlos Gardel premiered in the movie "Cuesta Abajo" when he was already established in New York to become a true movie star. With music by the same Zorzal Criollo and the poetic lyrics of the great Alfredo Le Pera, this song speaks of those fleeting loves of youth: passionate, unrestrained, merciless, but never forgotten. Los Amados, feeling identified with these facets of the enamored heart, approach this musical theme with a more intense rhythm like Son or Salsa – as they would say in Miami – moving away from the nostalgic imprint of the original version and transforming it into a very cheerful song with danceable hints, featuring beautiful arrangements of brass, piano, guitar, bass, percussion, and vocals. We liked it so much that we also premiered it as a music video to welcome the spring. Because love should be celebrated in every possible way.
