This year marks the 40th anniversary of a war that should never have happened. Many young Argentinians lost their lives on the islands. Others returned and faced the difficult task of rebuilding their lives. The love story between Dorothy and Ramiro mirrors the love story between continental Argentina and the Malvinas Islands. Just as Dorothy says to Ramiro, the Falklands say, '...I'll wait for you no matter how long it takes...' The song was orchestrated with varied instrumentation: oboe, string quartet, guitar, piano, bass, and drums provide the harmonic framework and color for the voice to express itself.
