Sesiones ION is the result of two recording sessions at the famous studio on Hipólito Irigoyen Street, under the technical direction of the legendary Osvaldo Acedo, who used two Royer 121 ribbon microphones according to the technique of Alan Blumlein, a 1930s pioneer of what later became known as “stereo.” Seven years after its release on CD and platforms, this historic work with original interpretations of pieces by Mozart and Ginastera will have its well-deserved vinyl edition as part of the Club del Disco's European releases.
Now mastered for vinyl by Acedo himself, this album stands apart from the rest of Escalandrum's discography. And if it was Album of the Month seven years ago, it is now the Vinyl of the Month for September at this renewed Club del Disco.
This deluxe edition is on 140 g vinyl, which comes in a white paper sleeve inside the cardboard cover. On the back cover, in addition to the technical details of the album, there is a precise and heartfelt text by the experienced recording engineer, who has also been running the studio for decades and was the driving force behind this recording.
