I chose the songs without intending to cover a specific period or style. There are songs from The Beatles as well as from his solo albums. In the final list, there are seven songs, but there could have been many more—it was difficult to choose.
I thoroughly enjoyed the recording process. I would arrive at the studio without any plan, play different songs, do some tests, and then decide which song to work on right there. The same goes for the instrumentation, which I decided on as I recorded: there are everything from very stripped-down solo versions to larger ensembles where the guitars take on the roles of the instruments in the original recordings.
