The album is based on the music of guitarist and composer Abel Fleury... and on my personal and current interpretation of his music. The idea is to merge with his music, whether by improvising on his themes, playing them as written, or creating entirely new music. Throughout the album, improvisations are woven together with his themes and versions of his songs... Fleury's music is incredibly warm and deep... It's very polyphonic and carries a strong imprint of the countryside and its times... In this album, my aim is to merge with his music, blurring the lines between his themes and mine, between robust chord improvisations and simple melodies played in a single voice or with traditional chords... Above all, I aimed to ensure the music never sounded "pretentious" at any moment... The choice and order of the themes are fundamental and the selection process was very long. Fleury is well known for his milongas, but there is a very powerful universe in his other more free-form compositions... The themes I chose include: a estilo, a huella, a cueca, a vidalita, a triste, and two criolla songs... They are all forms that are not widely known but possess a rhythmic freedom that allows for fluid movement. On the other hand, promoting his music, especially these types of works, is crucial to me."}" data-sheets-userformat="{"2":769,"3":{"1":0},"11":4,"12":0}" at any moment...
